2. What we collect

• Account data: name, email address, date of birth, and a hashed password when you register.
• Usage data: revision session times, exam countdown settings, flashcard decks, AI chat history, and exam papers you generate.
• Uploaded files: PDF documents and profile pictures you upload to use AI features.
• Payment data: Stripe processes your payment; we only store a Stripe customer ID — we never see or store your card details.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, and cookies needed to keep you signed in (JWT stored in an HTTP-only cookie).

3. How we use your data

• To provide and improve the Elevise service.
• To process AI requests via OpenRouter (your messages and uploaded content are sent to third-party AI models to generate responses).
• To manage your subscription via Stripe.
• To send you important service notices (no marketing emails without consent).

4. Third-party services

We use the following third parties who may process your data:

• OpenRouter — routes AI requests to language model providers.
• Stripe — handles payment processing.
• DigitalOcean — hosts our servers in the EU/UK region.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

5. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@elevise.app. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Your rights

7. Cookies

We use a single HTTP-only session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Children

Elevise is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

We may update this policy occasionally. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
